Spys4Darwin, circa 2001

Spys4Darwin

Spys4Darwin was formed in 2000/2001 by former Queensrÿche guitarist Chris DeGarmo, Sean Kinney (drums) and Mike Inez (bass) of Alice in Chains, and vocalist Vinnie Dombrowski from Sponge. The four had spent time jamming in Seattle at a local rehearsal space, and ultimately completed work on a six-track EP entitled Microfish.

The band’s sound was very much a cross between Hear in the Now Frontier-era Queensryche and Alice in Chains. The band played one live show and also did a radio interview revealing plans to record more music and sign with a label, but Spys4Darwin eventually disbanded without releasing a full-length album.
