The Geoff Tate Band
The Geoff Tate Band was put together in late 2000/early 2001 by Queensr˙che's lead vocalist. Searching for an avenue of musical expression outside the hard rock realm of his primary band, Geoff Tate gathered together a host of local Seattle musicians to create his self-titled debut album. The album was released in 2002, with Tate and his band touring in the summer of that year in support of it.
The band lineup consisted of the following people:
Geoff Tate (lead vocals)
Jeff Carrell (guitar, vocals)
Scott Moughton (guitar, vocals)
Chris Fox (bass)
Evan Schiller (drums)
Howard Chilcott (keyboards, vocals)
The record and subsequent tour was an eclectic one. Musically, while elements of hard rock persist, the vibe varies in a broad range of rock spanning the 1950s-1990s. The tour featured most, if not all of the album performed live, and a host of Queensr˙che songs presented in a "remixed" format.
